Twenty-four-year-old Ariadne Young is a quick-witted hacker living in a future America. Democracy has failed and a new world order, called the Enlightenment, has risen. Their technology has produced the ultimate form of surveillance–the Node, a camera-like device implanted in the eye; watching every move citizens make, waiting to detonate and kill if they disobey.

Desperate to avenge the deaths of her parents, Ariadne uses her hacking skills to find out information about their murderers. With the help of Amity, a sophisticated A.I. system, she remains hidden from the eyes of the government. While deciphering a stolen code from an Enlightenment base, she encounters an Enlightenment agent, prompting a near-death experience. Quickly after, a rebellion group named Black Web aids her in her escape and provides her with the tools to help her find vengeance.

Ridding the world of the Enlightenment will grant Ariadne her greatest wish, retribution for her parents. But, with the nation thriving and unified under the Enlightenment’s plan, revealing the truth will spiral society into chaos. Ariadne must decide if her vendetta is worth upending society, returning it to anarchy and ruin.
